The FREE Health Check is offered to a User who may be either a Home User or a Company. A Home User is defined as a UK resident aged 18 or over, who purchases IT products and services for personal use.
The FREE Health Check offer is limited to a single PC or Laptop run on the following Microsoft operating systems – Windows 95 / 98 / ME / 2000 / Vista and Windows 7.
The FREE Health Check can be made either by telephone (remote access) or by physical examination of the equipment by our engineers. A physical examination can be made either in Planet Solutions' offices or on site. A telephone-based examination will be limited to 10 minutes, an on-site one to 15 minutes.
All Users requiring a FREE Health Check must contact Planet Solutions to arrange a time for the Check, which will normally take place within five working days. Home Users may receive a FREE Health Check only upon presentation to Planet Solutions of the offer leaflet or the promotional e-mail code. The FREE Health Check offer may not be combined with any other Planet Solutions promotional or discount offers.
The User agrees that the Planet Solutions FREE Health Check offer is a 100% free service provided by Planet Solutions and that this service is provided ’as is’ with no warranties whatsoever.
The FREE Health Check which Planet Solutions undertakes to provide shall include one or more of the following services:
- Floppy, Hard Disk(s) and CD/DVD Drives diagnostic
- Virus and spyware general check
- Firewall protection and basic security threats
- Basic check of computer performance
- General advice for networking
- General report of computer status
At the end of the PC Health Check session, a report will be generated based on the test results.  If the computer is found to be ‘unhealthy’, Planet Solutions may provide entry level consultation services.  However, NO problem rectification will be carried out at this stage.
If, at the end of a physical examination, and after the report has been generated, the User agrees to use Planet Solutions’ services to rectify any faults discovered during the examination, the User shall receive a discount of 20% off the standard charges for Planet Solutions’ support and maintenance services
Planet Solutions shall not be responsible for any consequential loss or damage suffered by the User as a result of defects in or damage to stored data or devices connected with the User’s equipment and Planet Solutions shall in no circumstances be responsible for loss of profit or opportunity suffered by the User.
Planet Solutions shall not be responsible for any repair of the User’s equipment or a refund to the User under this promotion wholly or mainly as a result of:
- Any software incompatibility or defect
- Any operator error
- Any misuse or accidental damage
- Wilful or malicious damage
Planet Solutions shall not be responsible for any breach of the Data Protection Act 1984 in connection with any stored data on or in the User’s equipment or in any other computer media and the User shall be responsible to take all such steps as are necessary to comply with the Act.
By using the FREE Health Check service the User is requested to provide Planet Solutions with contact information and computer system details. Â Planet Solutions will use this information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Any reference to Planet Solutions in these terms and conditions is to Planet Solutions Limited whose registered office is at 484 Chiswick High Road, London, W4 5TT, UK.
